ABSTRACT CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS: THE PARTICULARITIES OF THE “DELIRIUM” SERIES
Years of creation 2004 to 2007. Resulting from playful experiments whose initial objective was the creation of rhythmical and undulatory symbioses powered by different musical compositions, the Delirium series is the response of the body and mind to the questioning of the senses. When I painted each painting of this series, I was acting as a catalyst, instinctively translating different phases of concentrated emotions, which I ironically name “momentum”, into unstructured amalgams of lines, forms, textures and colors… This series also comprises of compositions and visual symphonies on paper. At that time, I never knew that I was suffering from a type of synesthesia. But what a pleasure!
As a matter of fact, even nowadays, when I listen to music, my senses vibrate. This pleasure still awakens my interior rhythm which appears as a dream where one is guided by an unknown adventure. Then, when opportunity presents itself, I release on canvas or paper the colorful feelings provoked by the sound waves that my subconscious mind interprets at each instant.
